Lee Hodgkinson
Chief Executive

Lee Hodgkinson became CEO of SmartPool on 1 May 2009. Previously, he was CEO of SWX Europe (formerly known as virt-x) and Head of the Client and Product Group of SIX Swiss Exchange, a position he held since December 2006. He was Director of Market Operations in the five years prior to this and a Member of the Management Board of SIX Swiss Exchange from 2003. Lee began his career in the Markets Division of the London Stock Exchange, where he worked for nine years and is an alumnus of Harvard Business School.

Johanna Danby
Chief Operating Officer

Johanna Danby joined SmartPool in December 2008. Previously she worked for Deutsche Bank in the Equities division as a Business Manager for the Cash & Program Trading desk in London. During her career with Deutsche Bank, Johanna was instrumental in the design, build and implementation of the infrastructure which supported the Bank’s expansion into Program Trading and the build up of the Equity Trading business in Europe. She was appointed Global Markets Business Manager for France in 2005 and spent two years in the Paris office. Johanna began her career as an IT Project Manager at NatWest Markets and is a graduate of Queens University, Belfast.

Charles Armytage
Head of Sales

Charles Armytage joined SmartPool in January 2009. Having started his career in the city as a stock exchange blue button for Grieveson Grant, Charles spent many years as a futures trader on LIFFE before joining Goldman Sachs as a senior warrants trader in 1989. Charles was appointed Head of Asian Trading in London for BZW in 1994 and later moved to Dresdner Bank where he set up the Asian Trading desk in London and Hong Kong. More recently Charles has been a senior salesman at Beauchamp and Reuters focusing on portfolio management and risk solutions.

Mona Jasani
Head of Marketing

Mona Jasani joined SmartPool in May 2009. Previously she was Head of Marketing at SWX Europe, and worked for SIX Swiss Exchange as a Business Development and Operations Project Manager. Mona started her career on the Barclays Bank Graduate Programme and later moved to the European Equities division of ABN AMRO. More recently, she worked with Baringa Partners as a Financial Services Management Consultant. Mona is a graduate of the London School Economics.

Stephane Rognon
Head of Projects & Service Partners

Stephane Rognon joined SmartPool in December 2009. Previously he was a Business Manager at Bloomberg and worked for Landsbanki as Global Head of Equities and Derivatives IT. Stephane started his career in 1991 at Finacor Vendome in Paris where he redesigned the front-to-back business systems. He then moved to GL Trade in 1999 where he led the European exchange connectivity division and in 2004 was appointed Chief Technology Officer for the London Northern Europe business unit.

Samantha Law
PA to CEO & Marketing Assistant

Samantha Law joined SmartPool in December 2008. Previously she worked for WestLB as PA to the Head of Debt Syndication covering Europe, Asia, Middle East and Emerging markets and worked for Towers Perrin as the IT Helpdesk Manager for Europe. More recently, Samantha worked for Landsbanki as a CRM System Project Manager where she was responsible for internal training and CRM data implementation across Europe. Samantha is a graduate of the University of London.
